Christopher G. Cogan is the Manager of Seven Funds, LLC. Since 2010, Chris served as Managing Partner of the Bellwether Group at Morgan Stanley. In that role, Chris managed day-to-day operations of the team with more than $850 million in assets under management where he handled all corporate client services including: strategic planning, expansion capital, debt financing, and exit strategies. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Chris was Founder and Chief Investment Officer of a boutique private investment firm in Orlando Florida, where he realized a 3.5X return and 48 percent IRR over an eight year period.
For thirty years, he has envisioned, built and run successful businesses in diverse fields ranging from water pollution control to contract procurement services and software design and development.
Chris is a graduate of Rollins College with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He completed the Management Program at the Crummer Graduate School of Business as well as the AEA/Stanford Executive Forum at Stanford University. He is a Board Member at the Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship (CFAE) at the Rollins College business school and serves on the Investment Board of the Florida Institute for the Commercialization of Public Research. He holds the designation of Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and securities licenses including Series 7, 31 and 66. Cogan has testified before the US Federal Trade Commission and the European Commission as an expert on Internet Commerce and has served as an industry expert for the international law firm of Jones, Day, Reavis and Pogue. He was awarded The Blue Chip Enterprise Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Award for Business Leadership from Ernst & Young, and the Forty Under 40 Award from the Orlando Business Journal.
Ms. Carter has served CFO of Seven Funds, LLC, the Private Equity arm of the Cogan Family office, since 2014. In addition, she was named CFO of F7 Motorsports and its related entities in 2017. She handles all financial planning, reporting and regulatory compliance.
Ms. Carter received her undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Tulane University and her MBA with specializations in both Finance and Accounting from the A.B. Freeman School of Business, Tulane University, where she was elected to both Beta Gamma Sigma business and Beta Alpha Psi accounting honoraria. Upon graduation, Ms. Carter began her career as a Certified Public Accountant with the consulting division of Ernst & Young LLP, Special Services Group. Ms. Carter assisted corporations, healthcare organizations, financial institutions, law firms, and other clients with complex business, financial, M &A, audit and tax issues. For almost ten years, Ms. Carter worked with the Special Services Group based in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was responsible for providing services for Ernst & Young LLP clients throughout the Southeast United States.
After advancing to Senior Manager with Ernst & Young LLP, Ms. Carter relocated to Sarasota, Florida where she went on to serve as the Chief Financial Officer and/or Executive Vice President in various industries, including healthcare, communications, information technology, construction, and venture capital. In these roles, she was responsible for the oversight of entire financial and accounting departments, including accounts receivable, collections, invoicing, accounts payable, inventory, payroll, human resources, banking, taxes, and accounting information systems. She developed and managed SEC quarterly and annual financial reporting and disclosures (10QSB, 10KSB) and related audited financial statements for both publicly traded (NASDAQ) and privately held corporations.
Curt is an Advisor at F7 Motorsports and also serves as COO of Cogan Realty, Inc., a position he has held for over 15 years. Curt has been exposed to virtually all aspects of the real estate and automotive industries over the past three decades. In his teens, while attending school, he started working within the family’s real estate portfolio while spending his spare time assisting with the classic car collection, detailing cars for Concourse events and prepping cars for race and track days. He soon began competing himself and in the late 90’s, he co-founded what grew to become of one of the most prominent builders of custom motorcycles in the US. Curt handled sales and marketing and helped grow the company to celebrity status with over 100 custom units sold per year and a long list of industry awards. Upon exiting that business in 2006, Curt returned to the family business where he handles investments in real assets including classic cars and real estate. Curt’s methodical research and analysis helps minimize downside risk and ensures stable returns on investments. His honesty and understated personality are hallmarks of the F7 approach to customer satisfaction.
